Eerste blik op Jude Law’s King Arthur schurk

Warner Bros. Pictures (via Entertainment Weekly) heeft een eerste blik vrijgegeven van Jude Law’s King Arthur schurk Vortigern uit Guy Ritchie‘s nieuwste film King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Vortigern wordt omschreven als, ”possessing magical abilities, as well as being the murderer of Arthur’s father, Uther Pendragon, and usurper of the throne.”  Daarnaast kan je hieronder ook nog een foto bekijken van Charlie Hunnam’s titelheld.

“I think where the pitfall has often been is trying to make King Arthur bland and nice, and nice and bland. The two qualities make rather compatible bed companions. Unfortunately, they’re not interesting to watch. Luke Skywalker was always the most uninteresting character in Star Wars because he’s the good guy. Good guys are boring.”

Hunnam sprak ook over zijn versie van het personage:

“He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. He’s a hustler. He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff.”

De film bevat enorme slangen, gigantische bewapende olifanten en een monster genaamd The Nemesis. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword moet een serie worden, bestaande uit zes delen. Het biedt een compleet nieuwe kijk op de Arthuriaanse legende. Arthur beschermde Groot-Brittannië tegen het Saksische volk, dat het land wilde veroveren. In de eerste film Knights of the Round Table: King Arthur zijn er rollen voor  Charlie Hunnam, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Jude Law, Eric Bana, Aidan Gillen en Djimon Honsou. De film is te zien vanaf 11 mei 2017.
