Jurassic World 3 heet officieel Jurassic World: Dominion

De opnames voor Jurassic World 3 zijn van start gegaan – en met dat nieuws komt de officiële titel. De film heet Jurassic World: Dominion. Regisseur Colin Trevorrow onthulde de titel via onderstaande Tweet. De derde film in de Jurassic World-trilogie van Trevorrow en de zesde Jurassic Park-film volgt de gebeurtenissen op van Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, waar dinosauriërs het vasteland hebben bereikt.

Chris Pratt keert terug als Owen Grady. Andere bevestigde terugkerende castleden zijn Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Justice Smith en Daniella Pineda. Nieuwkomers zijn Dichen Lachman, Deulde Wise, Scott Haze en Mamoudou Athie. Daarnaast zullen Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler) en Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm) voor het eerst sinds Jurassic Park herenigd worden.

Colin Trevorrow keert terug voor de regie van het derde deel. Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising, The Black Hole) komt voor het eerst bij het Jurassic-team, en zal Trevorrow het Jurassic World 3 scenario schrijven. Ze werken een verhaal uit van Derek Connolly en Trevorrow, die samen Jurassic World en Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom schreven.

Trevorrow onthulde ook dat de film zal dienen als een vervolg op de hele franchise, niet alleen zijn trilogie:

“We’d have had to come up with a reason why Ellie, Malcolm and Grant all went to the theme park on the exact same day it broke down – again. The next film allows the legacy characters to be a part of the story in an organic way. Emily Carmichael and I call it ‘Jurassic Park VI’, because it is. You start asking the most basic questions: who are these people now? What do they make of the new world they’re living in, and how do they feel about being part of its history? Ultimately it will be in collaboration with the actors. They know and love these characters. We’ll do it together.”

Jurassic World: Dominion zal op vrijdag 11 juni 2021 in de bioscoop verschijnen.
