Michael Stuhlbarg over Call Me By Your Name 2

Michael Stuhlbarg gelooft dat Call Me by Your Name 2, een vervolg op het veelgeprezen Oscar-winnende drama, een zeer reële mogelijkheid is. Dit meldt The Playlist. De acteur onthulde dat regisseur Luca Guadagnino “seems to think that we might be able to pick up the action a few years later, to see what’s happened to these characters and the choices they’ve made, and life after this particularly momentous summer for them all. But it sounds like something he’s serious about, and André Aciman is thrilled I think at the idea.” 

Natuurlijk is Guadagnino momenteel hard aan het werk om zijn remake van de Italiaanse horrorfilm Suspiria uit 1977 af te maken. Dus, welke plannen hij ook heeft voor een Call Me by Your Name vervolg, deze staan voorlopig zeker op een laag pitje.

Toch liet Stuhlbarg een paar hints vallen over wat een vervolgfilm zou kunnen zijn:

“There are portions of the book that we didn’t mine as thoroughly. I’m curious about it myself and I would be thrilled to be a part of any kind of a sequel. It was a very special experience for all of us. I think it would have to be some kind of unique thing from what it was, but I would absolutely be game for trying.”

Call Me By Your Name 2

Call Me by Your Name ging in januari in première tijdens Sundance en werd volledig de hemel in geprezen. Elio (Chalamet) woont met zijn familie ergens in Noord-Italië. Tijdens de zomer van 1983 trekt de Amerikaanse student Oliver (Hammer) tijdelijk bij hen in. De twee worden ondanks het aanzienlijke leeftijdsverschil verliefd op elkaar en samen beleven ze een onvergetelijke zomer vol muziek, lekker eten en romantiek.

Hoofdrollen zijn er voor Armie Hammer, Timothée Chalamet en Michael Stuhlbarg.
