Mulholland Drive beste film van de 21ste eeuw

Mulholland Drive Hoe vaak heb je de zin gehoord, “They don’t make ‘em like they used to.”? Hoe vaak heb je dit zelf uitgesproken? Critici rouwen om de dood van de kleinere films, die plaats maken voor superhelden spektakel. Dit is tevens het onderwerp in verschillende filmstudies. In reactie op de vermeende ‘dood van de cinema’ vroeg BBC Culture 177 critici uit 37 verschillende landen naar hun favoriete films van de 21ste eeuw. De poll leverde een veelzijdige lijst op, van het Argentijnse La mujer sin cabeza tot de recente Oscarwinnaar Spotlight en Finding Nemo. Bovenaan de top 100 staat David Lynch’ Mulholland Drive uit 2001.
