Nieuwe posters voor Godzilla: King of the Monsters

Regisseur Michael Dougherty heeft op Twitter een aantal nieuwe posters vrijgegeven voor de monster bash Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Deze kun je hieronder bekijken. We zien de angstaanjagende driekoppige draak King Ghidorah, Mothra, en de coole Rodan.

Elke poster heeft ook een Bijbels citaat uit Revelations specifiek voor elke Titan. Voor Ghidorah:

“They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss. A star fallen from heaven to earth, he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like that of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened…” 

Voor Mothra: 

“Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions over the earth. They were told not to harm the grass or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind.”

Ten slotte voor Rodan:

“For the Beast that comes up out of the Abyss will make war with them, and overcome them… and kill them.”

Het nieuwe verhaal volgt de heldhaftige inspanningen van het crypto-zoölogische agentschap Monarch terwijl diens leden het opnemen tegen een batterij van gigantische monsters, waaronder de machtige Godzilla, die botst met Mothra, Rodan, en zijn ultieme aartsvijand, de driekoppige koning Ghidorah. Wanneer deze oude superspecies weer opstaan, strijden ze allemaal om suprematie, waardoor het bestaan ​​van de mensheid in de balans blijft hangen.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is onderdeel van Legendary en Warner Bros.‘s cinematic MonsterVerse. De eerste Godzilla-film werd geregisseerd door Gareth Edwards en bracht wereldwijd 529 miljoen dollar in het laatje. Onderdeel van het MonsterVerse zijn verder de films Kong: Skull Island (2017) en het in 2020 te verschijnen Godzilla vs King Kong.

De film heeft hoofdrollen voor Vera Farmiga, Mille Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Zhang Ziyi, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Aisha Hinds, Bradley Whitford en Ken Watanabe. De film wordt geregisseerd door Michael Dougherty. Tevens schreef hij het scenario samen met Zach Shields. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is vanaf 30 mei 2019 in de bioscoop te zien.
