Officiële synopsis War for the Planet of the Apes

20th Century Fox zal volgende week de eerste beelden vertonen van War for the Planet of the Apes tijdens New York Comic-Con. In afwachting hiervan heeft de studio een eerste synopsis vrijgegeven:

“In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.”

Het derde deel volgt op Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) en Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014). De regie ligt in handen van Matt Reeves (Cloverfield). Het scenario is geschreven door Mark Bomback en Reeves. De hoofdrollen zijn voor Woody Harrelson, Judy Greer, Andy Serkis, Steve Zahn en Max Lloyd-Jones.

War for the Planet of the Apes is vanaf 13 juli is de film in de bioscoop te zien.
