Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe gaat op 28 augustus in première op Disney Plus. Dat heeft de streamer bekendgemaakt. In de film zien we hoe Phineas Flynn (Vincent Martella) en Ferb Fletcher (David Errigo Jr.) door het universum reizen om hun zus Candace Flynn (Ashley Tisdale) te redden. Ze is ontvoerd door aliens.

Phineas & Ferb is een Amerikaanse animatieserie gecreëerd door Dan Povenmire en Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. De serie werd van 17 augustus 2007 tot 12 juni 2015 uitgezonden op Disney Channel en Disney XD. De serie telt in totaal 222 afleveringen, verspreid over 4 seizoenen.

In 2011 verscheen de tv-film Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension en Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe is daar een direct vervolg op. De gebeurtenissen in de film spelen zich af voor het einde van de animatieserie.

De stemmencast bestaat uit Ashley Tisdale als Candace, Vincent Martella als Phineas Flynn, Caroline Rhea als hun moeder Linda, Dee Bradley Baker als Perry the Platypus, Alyson Stoner als Isabella, Maulik Pancholy als Baljeet, Bobby Gaylor als Buford, Olivia Olson als Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, Tyler Mann als Carl en Povenmire en Marsh als respectievelijk Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz en Major Monogram. David Errigo Jr. voegt zich bij de cast als Ferb Fletcher.
