Prequel The King’s Man krijgt releasedatum en poster

Na maanden van ontwikkeling, opnames en anticipatie van fans, heeft 20th Century Fox bekendgemaakt dat de komende Kingsman-prequel officieel de titel The King’s Man heeft gekregen. Dat deed de studio middels de onthulling van het logo en de releasedatum. De film is verplaatst naar februari 2020!

Serie schrijver / regisseur Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class) kondigde in juni aan dat de derde film in de franchise zich zou afspelen in de vroege jaren 1900 en het begin zou volgen van het spionageagentschap waarvan Taron Egerton‘s Eggsy uiteindelijk een van de overblijvende agenten zou worden. Vaughn heeft ook aangekondigd dat dit, in tegenstelling tot de vorige twee films, meer een drama dan een spionage thriller zal zijn. De officiële synopsis is als volgt:

“As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them.”

De film heeft een cast die bestaat uit Harris Dickinson, Ralph Fiennes, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Gemma Arterton, Tom Hollander, Daniel Bruhl, Charles Dance, Liam Neeson, Matthew Goode, Djimon Hounsou, Stanley Tucci en Rhys Ifans.

De productie van The King’s Man is al begonnen.
