Wanneer verschijnt White Lines seizoen 2?
De Netflix-serie White Lines verscheen op 15 mei op het platform als een nieuw misdaadmysterie op het zonovergoten eiland Ibiza. De serie is geschreven door La Casa de Papel bedenker Álex Pina en de producers van The Crown. Nu vragen degenen die de hele serie al hebben gekeken zich af of er nog een seizoen van de serie zal komen.
Acteur Tom Rhys Harries zegt dat White Lines seizoen 2 momenteel gepland wordt. Harries speelt DJ Axel Collins, wiens mysterieuze dood een kettingreactie veroorzaakt op het eiland, terwijl zijn familie probeert te begrijpen waarom hij zo’n 20 jaar geleden verdween. Hij vertelde aan in een interview:
“I know that there are recces happening for season two; they’re location scouting, if and when that goes ahead – or that was happening prior to the global pandemic. But I think everybody would be really keen to go back and visit Alex [Pina]’s world again, because it’s just so out there and colourful and sort of bonkers. It’s just a fun place to live in for a little bit.“
Of het geplande seizoen een vervolg of prequel zal zijn, is nog niet duidelijk. Hij zei:
“That’s a discussion that we’ve all been having. There’s a couple of years on the island, where Axel – my character – and the younger cast members, we don’t see them establishing their sort of clubs there. Because at the end I own five clubs at the point of my death, so there’s a world where we could explore those missing years. But the thing with Alex’s non-linear storytelling – and he does this with Money Heist as well – where you know he could go anywhere with it, so that’s really exciting.”
In een gesprek met NMA onthulde hoofdrolspeelster Laura Haddock eerder over White Lines seizoen 2:
“Watching the show made me desperately want to get the opportunity to go back and do a second series I know that everybody is still working and chugging away in the writers’ room and everybody is keeping their fingers crossed that we get to make a second season, but we just don’t know.”
Ze voegde toe:
“Nobody knows, nobody has got any answers, and I think that is the strangest thing about this situation – ordinarily there would be someone that you could go to and say, ‘Have you got the answer? Can you just give it to me?’ But nobody does so we are all just crossing our fingers and waiting and we will see, hopefully.
Naast Haddock vertelde uitvoerend producent Andy Harries aan Deadline dat ze terugkomen zolang de serie het goed doet. Hij onthulde ook dat de serie oorspronkelijk was ontworpen om in totaal drie seizoenen te lopen.
Wanneer het lichaam van een legendarische DJ uit Manchester twintig jaar na zijn mysterieuze verdwijning op Ibiza wordt ontdekt, keert zijn zus terug naar het prachtige Spaanse eiland om erachter te komen wat er is gebeurd. Haar onderzoek leidt haar door een spannende wereld van dansclubs, leugens en cover-ups. En op een plek waar mensen graag hun grenzen opzoeken, wordt ze zelf ook geconfronteerd met haar eigen donkere kanten.
De regie van White Lines is in handen van Nick Hamm, Luis Prieto, Ashley Way en Alvaro Brechner. De serie wordt geproduceerd door Andy Harries en Sharon Hughff voor Left Bank Pictures (The Crown) en geproduceerd door Chris Croucher. Álex Pina en Cristina López Ferraz produceren namens Vancouver Media (La Casa De Papel).
De cast bestaat uit namen als Laura Haddock (Guardians of the Galaxy, Transformers: The Last Knight), Marta Milans (Shazam,The Pier), Juan Diego Botto (Good Behavior), Nuno Lopes (Saint George, Lines of Wellington), Daniel Mays (Line of Duty, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Laurence Fox (Victoria, Lewis) en Angela Griffin (Turn Up Charlie, The Detail).
Het is nog niet bekend wanneer White Lines seizoen 2 zal verschijnen.
