Apple TV+ kondigt Foundation seizoen 2 aan
Nadat de reeks twee weken geleden zijn debuut maakte, heeft Apple TV+ Foundation seizoen 2 aangekondigd. De serie-adaptatie van Isaac Asimovs iconische roman heeft al de eerste vier afleveringen uitgebracht, die nu beschikbaar zijn voor streaming op Apple TV+. Goyer zei:
“Since my childhood I’ve dreamed of how Hari Seldon and Eto Demerzel would look and sound – what Terminus and Trantor would feel like. Now, with season two, our audience will get to visit more of Asimov’s indelible characters and worlds, including Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose, and all the Outer Suns. I’m thrilled that a whole new generation of fans are reading Asimov’s brilliant masterwork. We’re playing the long game with ‘Foundation’ and I’m grateful to my partners at Apple and Skydance for entrusting me with this epic. Buckle up. We’re about to fold some serious space.”
Producent Robyn Asimov voegde toe:

Het verhaal gaat over de ondergang van het Galactische Imperium. Psychohistoricus Hari Seldon is de enige die dat kan voorzien, dankzij de door hem ontwikkelde psychohistorie. Daarmee kan hij de toekomst voorspellen met wiskundige formules en statistische berekeningen. Het verhaal voltrekt zich over een tijdspanne van duizend jaar.
In Foundation speelt Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy, Halt and Catch Fire) als Brother Day, de huidige keizer van de Galaxy, en Jared Harris (Chernobyl, The Terror) zal Hari Seldon spelen, een wiskundig genie dat de ondergang van de Galactic Empire voorspelt.
De Foundation serie op Apple TV+ zou de grootste Apple-serie tot nu toe zijn, en wordt gemaakt in samenwerking met Robyn Asimov, dochter van de overleden auteur. Scenarist en producent David Goyer spreekt van het grootste science-fictionwerk aller tijden. De trilogie debuteerde tussen 1942 en 1950 in Astounding Magazine als acht korte verhalen. Asimov maakte er vervolgens boeken van, die tot 1993 gepubliceerd werden.
De serie heeft hoofdrollen voor Lee Pace, Jared Harris, Lou Llobell, Laura Birn, Cassian Bilton, Terrence Mann.
