Eerste reacties Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge positief

Later dit jaar verschijnt het langverwachte vijfde deel in de Pirates of the Caribbean-franchise. Walt Disney Pictures heeft tijdens CinemaCon in Las Vegas de complete versie van Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge (originele titel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) vertoont en de reacties zijn positief. Hieronder een greep uit de tweets.

Daarnaast heeft de studio onderstaande featurette vrijgegeven, waarin het gerucht bevestigt wordt dat nieuwkomer Brenton Thwaites de rol gaat spelen van Henry Turner, de zoon van Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner en Keira Knightley‘s Elizabeth Swann.

 

Johnny Depp keert terug als de iconische, roekeloze antiheld Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge. In dit nieuwe avontuur krijgt Jack Sparrow te maken met zijn aartsvijand kapitein Salazar (Javier Bardem). Als alle spookzeelieden onder leiding van Salazar ontsnappen aan de Devil’s Triangle hebben ze maar één missie: alle piraten doden, Jack in het bijzonder. De enige hoop op overleving ligt voor Jack in het legendarische Trident van Poseidon. Om die te vinden moet hij een alliantie vormen met Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), de briljante en beeldschone astronoom en Henry (Brenton Thwaites), een eigenwijze jonge zeeman verbonden aan de Koninklijke Marine. Aan het roer van zijn bedroevend kleine en haveloze schip probeert Jack zijn leven te redden door uit handen te blijven van zijn meest geduchte en kwaadaardige aartsvijand.

Hoofdrollen in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 zijn voor Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Orlando Bloom, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Kevin R. McNally, Golshifteh Farahani, David Weham, Stephen Graham.

De regie is in handen van het duo Joachim Rønning en Espen Sandberg. Het scenario is geschreven door Jeff Nathanson, Ted Elliott, Stuart Beattie en Jay Wolpert. De film werd geproduceerd door Jerry Bruckheimer.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge zal op 24 mei 2017 in première gaan.
