Eerste trailer voor High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

Disney heeft de eerste trailer vrijgegeven voor High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Deze kun je hieronder bekijken. De nieuwe serie wordt uitgezonden op 12 november op Disney+.

Bedenker en showrunner Tim Federle vertelde:

“Doing theater is all about finding your tribe. I can’t wait till the world meets the crazy-talented new tribe of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.”

Federle voegde toe:

“There aren’t a lot of writers who get to launch a new streaming platform like Disney+. “It’s a privilege to create a love letter to fans of the original High School Musical movies while also making an irreverent, feel-good musical for a new generation.”

De High School Musical serie heeft rollen voor Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Kate Reinders en Frankie A. Rodriguez. Agnes Chu, senior vice president content bij Disney+, vertelde:

“We are truly excited about this extremely talented cast and the fresh and contemporary take on this globally beloved franchise. From the music and dance, to the characters and hilarious meta references, there is something here for fans of the originals, as well as people who are new to East High. It’s going to be an unforgettable viewing experience for Disney+ subscribers.”

De eerste High School Musical film werd uitgezonden in 2006 op het Disney channel, waar de carrières van Zac Efron (The Greatest Showman, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile), Vanessa Hudgens (Dog Days) en Ashley Tishdale (Charming) werden gelanceerd. De film was zeer succesvol. De eerste keer dat de film werd uitgezonden in de Verenigde Staten keken er 7,7 miljoen mensen. Dat was enige tijd een record voor Disney Channel. In 2007 werd het vervolg High School Musical 2 uitgebracht, in 2008 verscheen tevens het derde deel, High School Musical 3: Senior Year, in de bioscopen.

Tim Federle (Ferdinand) en Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars) zullen optreden als uitvoerend producenten van de serie en regisseur Julie Ashton is verantwoordelijk voor de casting.
