In de nacht van 9 tot 10 februari zendt tv-zender Fox, de 92ste editie van de Academy Awards live in Nederland uit. Zowel de ‘red carpet’ als de uiteindelijke ceremonie zullen op Fox te zien zijn. Maar ook in deze live blog kun je de ceremonie van de Oscars 2020 volgen. Wij houden deze blog bij via de Twitter hashtag #ehoek2020oscars.

De grote winnaar van de avond was de Zuid-Koreaanse film Parasite. De film won 4 prijzen, waaronder Beste Regie en Beste Film. 1917 won drie prijzen. Joker en Ford v Ferrari wonnen allebei 2 Oscars. De prijs voor beste acteur ging naar Joaquin Phoenix, met zijn rol in Joker. Renée Zellweger was de beste actrice, met haar rol in Judy. Een opmerkelijke verliezer van de avond was Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman. Die film was van de grootste kanshebbers de enige die geen enkele prijs won.
