Het lijkt erop dat Victor Garber klaar is met DC-serie Legends of Tomorrow. Volgens Deadline stopt de acteur na het derde seizoen met de serie en is het maar de vraag hoe het verder gaat met Firestorm. Garber zou terugkeren naar Broadway, om de hoofdrol te spelen in de Tony-winnende revival van Hello, Dolly!. Dat zal van invloed zijn op zijn rol in Legends of Tomorrow. Naar het schijnt is er voor gekozen om de acteur langzaam uit de serie te schrijven. In de eerste seizoenen van The Flash was Garber te zien als Martin Stein, waarna hij in Legends of Tomorrow een vaste rol kreeg.

Daarnaast meldt The Hollywood Reporter dat Constantine terug keert in een tweedelige aflevering van Legends of Tomorrow. NBC annuleerde na een seizoen al de serie Constantine, waarin acteur Matt Ryan te zien was als John Constantine. Vervolgens keerde hij eenmaal terug in Arrow. Het gaat om een aflevering die voortborduurt op de gebeurtenissen in een vierdelige crossover tussen Legends of Tomorw, The Flash, Arrow en Supergirl. Showrunner Phil Klemmer zei het volgende:
“Having Matt Ryan reprise his iconic — dare we say legendary — role of John Constantine on Legends is something that [executive producer] Marc [Guggenheim] and I have been working toward since season one, and now the stars have finally aligned. While we are working to finish our 2017 Arrow-verse crossover, which is no joke the most ambitious bit of network TV that four shows have ever had the audacity and insanity to endeavor, we were looking for a way to make an equally exciting 2018 return. That’s how we came up with Matt Ryan.”
Klemmer vervolgde:
“As for the character of Constantine, we knew that an alienated, chain-smoking, bisexual, world-weary demonologist would feel right at home among our Legends. His appearance in episode 310 will involve the following: a revisiting of Arrow season four and the events following that season’s finale episode; a confrontation with this season’s Big Bad on Legends — the name we’ve only heard whispered until now, Mallus; some hot sex — something that has been in short supply on the Waverider thus far in season three; and Damien Darhk [Neil McDonough], because how can you do an episode about dark magic and not have Damien Darhk? More than anything, the episode promises to be scary as you know what — tonally it’s The Exorcist meets One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Demonic possession in a mental institution — what’s not to love?”
In de serie reist Rip Hunter terug naar het verleden om daar een groep helden en schurken te verzamelen, om zo gezamenlijk een ogenschijnlijk niet te stoppen bedreiging. Daarmee staat niet alleen de Aarde op het spel, maar ook de tijd zelf.
De serie heeft hoofdrollen voor Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Caity Lotz. Dominic Purcell, Wentworth Miller, Ciara Renée, Falk Hentschel, Arthur Darvill, Franz Drameh, Sarah Grey, Lance Henriksen, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Nick Zano en Matthew MacCaull.
De serie is gebaseerd op de personages van DC. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow van Bonanza Productions Inc. in samenwerking met Berlanti Productions en Warner Bros. Television, met uitvoerende producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Phil Klemmer en Sarah Schechter.
