Wanneer verschijnt Instinct seizoen 3?

CBS heeft laten weten dat Instinct seizoen 3 er niet zal komen. De serie Instinct is namelijk gecanceld, ondanks het feit dat er al plannen waren voor een derde seizoen. Dit heeft te maken met het feit dat de serie matige kijkcijfers heeft en niet voldoet aan de verwachtingen van CBS.

De serie is gebaseerd op het boek Murder Games van James Patterson en volgt dokter Dylan Reinhardt (gespeeld door Alan Cumming), die langzaam maar zeker zijn rustige leventje vaarwel zegt. De serie valt op door een homoseksueel mannelijk personage in de hoofdrol.

Bedenker Michael Rauch (Royal Pains) vertelde in een tweet over Instinct seizoen 3:

Alan Cumming heeft op social media een bericht geplaatst over het stoppen van Instinct. Hij zei het volgende:

“So the word is out. @InstinctCBS will not be returning for a third season,” he writes. “Almost exactly three years ago I was sent a galley copy of a book by [James Patterson] and [Howard Roughan] and then I met the showrunner [Michael Rauch] who was to adapt it for TV and I jumped in… And while I’m sorry I won’t be getting to play with [Bojana Novakovic] and the rest of the amazing cast and crew again, I’m grateful for two seasons of fun and gore and feeling like a dandy thanks to [Dan Lawson]’s costumes, and selfies with corpses and vegan options at catering and [my dog] Lala’s occasional guest appearances in the police station when she got bored in her basket beneath my desk.”

“I’m also proud to have played the first [ever] leading character in a U.S. network drama who is gay. Yes, really. Because of @InstinctCBS millions of people will have seen a same sex marriage portrayed for the first time and I hope we changed and opened some minds in the process.”

Dr. Dulan Reinhart, een begaafde auteur, universiteitsprofessor en voormalig CIA agent wordt in Instinct weer teruggetrokken in zijn oude leven door NYPD detective Lizzie Needham om haar te helpen een seriemoordenaar te stoppen die het eerste boek van Reinhart gebruikt als leidraad.

De hoofdrollen worden gespeeld door Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, Sharon Leal. In seizoen 2 wordt de cast vergezeld door Travis Van Winkle als Ryan Stock en Reshma Shetty als Maya Bhaduri.

De serie Instinct is ontwikkeld door Michael Rauch en ging in 2018 in première in Amerika.
