Binnenkort zien we het einde van de AMC-serie Mad Men. AMC heeft aangekondigd dat de première van de laatste aflevering van het zevende seizoen op 12 april uitgezonden wordt.
Hoofdrolspeler Jon Hamm zei over de laatste afleveringen:
“So looking forward to being unemployed. So happy not to see any of these people ever again, and all of that is really great. Hashtag sarcasm. There’s no version of this ending that is not super painful for me.”
Showrunner Matthew Weiner voegde toe:
“I can’t wait for people to see [the final episodes]. It’s going be weird to actually get to the point where there is no more new ones. The spinoff, right now, is these last seven episodes, as far as I’m concerned.” De zwanenzang zal, “advance the story in a different way. The last seven episodes, each one of them feels like a finale.”
Medespeler January Jones sprak over het laatste script:
“The last week, I was a mess. Anything made me cry. It’s a beautiful story. It’s perfect, in a way. I read it over and over again. Sometimes I still read it, like on a Thursday afternoon.”
Actrice Elisabeth Moss vindt ten slotte de conclusie geweldig: “I was surprised in the best way and just really, really happy with it.”
Mad Men duikt in de levens, liefdes en ambities van een groep ongenadig competitieve mannen en vrouwen die bij een reclamebureau werken in de jaren zestig. De serie speelt zich af op en rond Madison Avenue, de bakermat van de New Yorkse advertentiebureaus, en tevens verwijzend naar de ‘Mad’ uit de titel. De serie is bedacht door Sopranos-schrijver Matthew Weiner.
De hoofdrollen werden gespeeld door Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, Vincent Kartheiser, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, Bryan Batt, Aaron Staton, Rich Sommer, John Slattery, Jared Harris, Kiernan Shipka, Jessica Paré, Christopher Stanley, Jay R. Ferguson, Kevin Rahm, Ben Feldman, Mason Vale Cotton, Mark Moses. De laatste afleveringen van Mad Men seizoen 7 zijn vanaf 12 april te zien.
