The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition aangekondigd

Nu Man of Steel een succes is in de bioscopen richt Warner Bros. Home Entertainment zich nog even op een andere DC franchise in hun bezit, namelijk The Dark Knight. WB heeft officieel aangekondigd dat The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition beschikbaar zal zijn op Blu-ray vanaf 24 september.

Batman Begins

In Batman Begins vertelt de gevierde regisseur Christopher Nolan de ontstaansgeschiedenis van de legendarische Dark Knight. Nadat zijn ouders voor zijn ogen vermoord werden, reist de verbitterde erfgenaam Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) de wereld rond, op zoek naar een manier om onrecht te bestrijden en misdadigers met hun eigen grootste wapen, angst, te bekampen. Met de steun van zijn trouwe butler Alfred (Michael Caine), de politie-inspecteur Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) en zijn bondgenoot Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), keert Wayne uiteindelijk naar Gotham City terug om er zijn alter ego op de wereld los te laten: Batman. Een gemaskerde wreker die met zijn gestaalde lichaam, briljante geest en een hightech wapenarsenaal de strijd aan gaat met de duistere krachten die de stad bedreigen.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight, het vervolg op Batman Begins, wordt ook geregisseerd door Christopher Nolan en Christian Bale speelt opnieuw de rol van Batman/Bruce Wayne in zijn strijd tegen de misdaad. Met de hulp van Lt. Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) en officier van justitie Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) stelt Batman zich ten doel de georganiseerde misdaad in Gotham eens en voor altijd uit te roeien. Dit driemanschap werkt heel goed. Maar al snel valt het drietal ten prooi aan een opkomend misdadig meesterbrein dat The Joker (Heath Ledger) genoemd wordt. Deze stort Gotham in anarchie en dwingt Batman bijna de grens tussen held en wreker over te gaan.

The Dark Knight Rises

Het is acht jaar geleden dat Batman (Christian Bale) alles opofferde door de schuld op zich te nemen voor de dood van Harvey Dent, en daarna in de nacht verdween. Met de komst van een sluwe inbreekster (Anne Hathaway) en meedogenloze maniak Bane (Tom Hardy) wordt Bruce Wayne uit zijn zelf opgelegde ballingschap gedreven en gedwongen te vechten voor het lot van Gotham City… en zichzelf.

Now on September 24, Nolan’s three Batman films Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment as The Dark Knight Trilogy: Ultimate Collector’s Edition. The six-disc set will feature all three films with their existing extra content, two new featurettes and exclusive new collectible memorabilia.
