Adam McKay denkt aan Anchorman spin-off

Over een paar maanden zal Paramount Pictures‘ sequel op Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues te zien zijn de bioscopen. Regisseur Adam McKay denkt na over een familievriendelijke Anchorman spin-off waarin de aandacht uitgaat naar Walter en Baxter, de zoon en de hond van Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell). McKay zei:

“I want to shoot a whole adventure. Maybe you guys can help with this, we actually talked about the idea of doing The Adventures … I guess it’s out of the bag that Ron has a son? I mean, I guess it’s kinda out of the bag that Ron has a son? Or did I just let it out of the bag? … I just let it out of the bag. So we wanted to do the adventures of his son, Walter Burgundy, and Baxter. And I actually pitched it to Adam Goodman at Paramount and he said, “That’s not a bad idea.” So there’s a chance we might be doing a Milo and Otis, G-rated, PG, Adventures of Walter and Baxter, which would be amazing.”

Nu de jaren ’70 achter hen ligt, kruipt de topverslaggever van San Diego, Ron Burgundy, terug achter de newsdesk samen met zijn vrouw en collega Veronica Corningstone. Samen met weerman Tamland, de verslaggever op locatie Brian Fantana en sportverslaggever Champ Kind, hebben ze het wederom moeilijk om stijlvol te blijven terwijl ze snel bekendheid verwerven bij de 24-uurs nieuwszender van New York.

De film wordt geregisseerd door Adam McKay. Hij schreef tevens het scenario samen met Will Ferrell. De hoofdrollen zijn voor Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Steve Carell, David Koechner en Paul Rudd. Nieuwkomers zijn o.a. Kristin Wiig, James Marsden, Greg Kinnear, Harrison Ford, Dylan Baker, Meagan Good, Josh Lawson, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson en Nicole Kidman. Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues zal vanaf 20 december 2013 in de Nederlandse bioscopen te zien zijn.
