Bond-girl Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) overleden

Honor Blackman brak in de jaren zestig door in de serie The Avengers (in Nederland bekend als De Wrekers) naast Patrick McNee. Ze werd opgevolgd door actrice Diana Rigg, die de serie op haar beurt zou verlaten om Bondgirl Tracy te spelen in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
Naast eerdergenoemde rollen in speelde Blackman in de avonturenfilm Jason and the Argonauts (1963) en in de jarennegentig-sitcom The Upper Hand. Tevens was ze te zien in musicals als The Sound of Music en My Fair Lady.
Honor Blackman huwde twee keer, met Bill Sankey (1948-1956) en met acteur Maurice Kaufmann (1961-1975). Samen met Kaufman adopteerde ze twee kinderen.
