Emmy Awards 2021

De Television Academy heeft vandaag de 73ste Emmy Awards nominaties bekendgemaakt. Netflix’s The Crown en Disney+’s The Mandalorian hebben beide in totaal 24 Emmy Awards 2021 nominaties ontvangen, waaronder Outstanding Drama Series. De belangrijkste categorieën werden aangekondigd door het met een Emmy bekroonde vader-dochterduo Ron Cephas Jones (This Is Us) en Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting).

WandaVision domineert de categorieën van beperkte series met in totaal 23 nominaties, waaronder Outstanding Limited of Anthology Series, Outstanding Lead Actor voor Paul Bettany, Outstanding Lead Actress voor Elizabeth Olsen en Outstanding Supporting Actress voor Kathryn Hahn, en Outstanding Directing voor Matt Shakman, evenals drie nominaties in de categorie Outstanding Writing.

De Emmy Awards 2021 zullen worden gepresenteerd door Cedric the Entertainer en zullen een persoonlijke ceremonie zijn die op zondag 19 september zal plaatsvinden in het Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Na de virtuele ceremonie vorig jaar, zullen de jaarlijkse Emmy’s dit jaar een beperkt publiek hebben, bestaande uit genomineerden en hun gasten.
