HBO kondigt The White Lotus seizoen 3 aan

The White Lotus is verlengd voor seizoen 3 bij HBO. Het nieuws van de verlenging komt nadat er slechts drie van de zeven afleveringen van het tweede seizoen van de populaire anthologiereeks van maker Mike White zijn uitgezonden. Net als de seizoenen ervoor volgt het derde seizoen een nieuwe groep gasten in een geheel ander White Lotus-resort. Het eerste seizoen speelde zich af op Hawaï, terwijl het tweede zich afspeelt op Sicilië.

Francesca Orsi, executive vice president van HBO Programming en hoofd van HBO drama series and films, vertelde:

“Reflecting on ‘The White Lotus’’ humble, run-and-gun origin as a contained pandemic production, it’s impossible not to be awestruck by how Mike orchestrated one of the buzziest and most critically acclaimed shows. And yet, he’s only continued to reach new heights in season 2, which is the ultimate testament to Mike’s raw, unparalleled vision. His courage to explore the uncharted waters of the human psyche, paired with his signature irreverent humor and buoyant directing style, have us all dreaming of more vacation days at the resort we’ve come to adore. We couldn’t be more thrilled to get the chance to collaborate on a third season together.”

White zei:

The White Lotus seizoen 2 trailer

The White Lotus seizoen 2 vindt plaats op een nieuwe locatie en introduceert een geheel nieuwe reeks personages. Het volgende hoofdstuk laat Hawaï achter en volgt een andere groep vakantiegangers die naar een ander Witte Lotus hotel vliegen en zich tijdelijk tussen de bewoners vestigen. Het speelt zich af in een exclusief Siciliaans resort en volgt de verschillende gasten en medewerkers gedurende een week.

De nieuwe cast bestaat uit Michael Imperioli als Dominic Di Grasso, Aubrey Plaza als Harper Spiller, F. Murray Abraham als Bert Di Grasso, Tom Hollander als Quentin, Adam DiMarco als Albie Di Grasso, Haley Lu Richardson als Porta Theo James als Cameron, Meghann Fahy als Daphne, Will Sharpe als Ethan en nieuwkomer Leo Woodall als Jack. Jennifer Coolidge zal ook haar rol als Tanya McQuoid hernemen.

The White Lotus is gemaakt, geschreven en geregisseerd door Mike White (Enlightened). Het is uitvoerend geproduceerd door White, David Bernard, Mark Kamine en Nick Hall.

Het eerste seizoen had rollen voor Murray Bartlett, Connie Britton, Natasha Rothwell, Steve Zahn, Sydney Sweeney, Brittany O’Grady, Jake Lacy, Alexandra Daddario, Molly Shannon, Jennifer Coolidge en Fred Hechinger.
