Jacht op rollen in RED 3

RED 2 draait pas over een maand in de bioscopen, maar veel talentvolle acteurs en actrices proberen nu al een rol in een mogelijke derde film in de franchise in de wacht te slepen. Dit vertelde producent Lorenzo di Bonaventura. Afgelopen maand werd nog bekendgemaakt dat Jon en Erich Hoeber al getekend hebben voor het scenario van RED 3. Als dit scenario de goedkeuring van Lionsgate krijgt, zal de productie begin 2014 van start moeten gaan.

Het is dus geen verrassing dat er al gekeken wordt naar een cast voor de derde film. Volgens Di Bonaventura is geen van de acteurs uit RED 2 contractueel verplicht om ook in het vervolg te spelen:

“Everybody had a really good time making the first movie. I think we’re really lucky. I don’t know what makes that happen, but the alchemy of it, of the cast enjoying each other’s company and having a good time really happened on the first movie and people – I think you can see that on screen. You can see that they’re having a good time.”

Di Bonaventura vervolgt:

“We have had a couple of people – their agents certainly have reached out to us. Yeah, no, it’s one of the fun things to do, is in the world that we have, anything is almost possible in terms of casting and then you have to figure out how to ground it, but we can attract really outrageous characters. Actors don’t get that opportunity all that much.”

RED 2 heeft in de hoofdrollen Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung Hun Lee, Anthony Hopkinsen Helen Mirren. De film is vanaf 25 juli in de Nederlandse bioscoop te zien.
