Nominaties 91ste Academy Awards | Oscars 2019

De 91ste Oscar nominaties zijn vanmiddag aangekondigd door de Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Tracee Ellis Ross en Kumail Nanjiani hebben de nominaties voor de 24 categorieën onthuld.

Grote kanshebbers zijn dit jaar The Favourite en Roma, met beiden 10 nominaties. A Star Is Born en Vice zijn 8 keer genomineerd, Black Panther maar liefst 7 keer.

De 91ste Oscar-uitreiking vindt plaats op zondag 24 februari 2019 in het Dolby Theatre in Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood en wordt live uitgezonden door ABC Television Network.

Voor de eerste keer in bijna 30 jaar zullen de Oscars het moeten doen zonder een gastheer, heeft Variety bevestigd. De producenten zoekt blijkbaar een groep A-listers bij elkaar om de hele avond verschillende segmenten te introduceren.

Kevin Hart zou het evenement oorspronkelijk gaan presenteren, maar stopte uren nadat vernederende opmerkingen en tweets die eerder door de komiek over de LGBTQ-gemeenschap waren gemaakt, werden opgerakeld. Na een optreden in de show van Ellen Degeneres, ging het gerucht dat de Academy overwoog om Hart wederom te verwelkomen als gastheer als hij de gelegenheid had gebruikt om zich te verontschuldigen. Hart’s optreden in de show bevorderde alleen de controverse.
