The Boys seizoen 4 officieel aangekondigd
Hoewel seizoen 3 van The Boys nog niet klaar is met uitzenden, is er al een vierde seizoen in aantocht. Amazon heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat The Boys seizoen 4 groen licht heeft gekregen. Showrunner Eric Kripke zei over het nieuws:
“Speaking for the cast and crew, we’re so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more. We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”
Amazon Studios’ hoofd van de wereldwijde televisie, Vernon Sanders, was net zo opgetogen over het voortzetten van The Boys:
“From our first conversation with Kripke and the creative team about season three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder — an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season. The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining and threading the needle on social satire that feels all too real. This stylized world of the series has incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that. We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers.”

The Boys is een oneerbiedige kijk op wat er gebeurt als superhelden, die zo populair zijn als beroemdheden, zo invloedrijk als politici en zo vereerd als goden, hun superkrachten misbruiken. In de serie zijn worden de hoofdrollen gespeeld door Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Kapon, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie.
The Boys seizoen 3 zal weer enkele nieuwe personages introduceren. Zo komt er een superheld genaamd Soldier Boy. Dit personage gaat door Jensen Ackles gespeeld worden. Tevens zijn er rollen voor Laurie Holden (als Crimson Countess), Miles Gaston Villaneuva (Supersonic), Nick Wechsler (Blue Hawk), Katia Winter (Little Nina) en Sean Patrick Flanery (Gunpowder). Ook zal Frances Turner de vrouw van het bekende personage Mother’s Milk vertolken. Kristin Booth en Jack Doolan zullen een duo genaamd de TNT Twins spelen.
Het derde seizoen van The Boys is sinds 3 juni 2022 op Amazon Prime Video te zien.
