Warner Bros. kondigt animatiefilm The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim aan
New Line Cinema en Warner Bros Animation kondigen het nieuwe animatieproject The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim aan, van de regisseur van Ghost in the Shell, met Philippa Boyens als adviseur van het project.
De anime-speelfilm wordt geregisseerd door Kenji Kamiyam (Ultraman, Ghost in the Shell) en speelt zich af in Rohan en vertelt het verhaal van Helm Hammerhand. Het is bevestigd dat de film zich in hetzelfde universum bevindt als de filmreeks van Peter Jackson.

Sam Register, Warner Bros Animation, vertelde:
“This will be yet another epic portrayal of J.R.R. Tolkien’s world that has never been told before. We’re honored to partner with much of the incredible talent behind both film trilogies, along with new creative luminaries to tell this story. And so it begins.”
Jeffrey Addiss en Will Matthews (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance) schrijven The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim. De film moet een bioscooprelease krijgen. Philippa Boyens, met een Oscar bekroonde co-scenarist van de Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings-trilogie, is aan boord als consultant.
